Enabling works for the installation of new 1.5T and 3.0T MRI Scanners at the ground and first floors at Salford Royal University Teaching Hospital
Alteration and extension of the existing MRI unit on the ground floor of Irving Building for the installation of new 1.5T and 3.0T MRI scanners, including new RF cages. Alterations to the existing MRI unit on the first floor of Humphrey Booth Building for the installation of a new 1.5T MRI scanner, including a new RF cage. Access to the first floor of Humphrey Booth Building was achieved via an external loading platform, which was also designed to accommodate the loadings of the new 1.5T MRI scanner. Both areas required the formation of temporary openings within the external facades to enable the removal of the existing scanners, and installation of the new scanners. DAY CM was appointed to provide quantity surveying and cost planning services from concept design through to project completion. Produced Bills of Quantities for tender purposes to assist with competitive tendering, and to provide a better platform for receipt of robust and comparable tenders. We also helped coordinate the tender process through the appointed framework provider – the RISE Framework.
